We’re back with a fresh ’n exciting festival: Arabic Type Fest! After the success of All Eyes On Type, we’ll now be delving into the craft of modern Arabic typography and calligraphy.
Bringing together amazing designers from diverse and international backgrounds, including those that have recently emigrated to the Netherlands, we explore how type design can contribute to connecting cultures while exchanging some funky ass letters!
Can Arabic calligraphy facilitate a cross-cultural dialogue?
Last Friday we collaborated with De Voorkamer to host a calligraphy workshop, run by Hamza Gaderi. Getting a glimpse of the fascinating art of Arabic calligraphy was a great experience!
As you probably heard before: we’re running a research project on Arabic letters that culminates into a typography and calligraphy festival: Arabic Type Fest at Spring House. Next to the masters of type and graphic design, Hamza will give one more calligraphy workshop for the beginners.
